A wine of earth and cedar-wood with a background of vanillin oak. On the palate it is quite silky with fruits. A wine of good length to be enjoyed with friends. Vega Sicilia has its own cooperage and pays meticulous attention to the choice of oak, with the staves seasoned for four years; the new barrels are toasted according to the quality of the vintage, with the lighter wines requiring less toasting. As well as barriques of both French and American oak.
